Joint appearance of Nature
parks on the tourist market
Beneficiary:
Union for Írottkô Nature Park
9730 Kôszeg, Jurisics tér 7.
Subsidy amount: 88 900 EUR
Aim of the project
To display the Írottkô-Geschriebenstein Nature Park as a uniform tourist destination more effectively on the tourist market,
to develop the network cooperation within the nature park through the collaboration of the parties concerned in tourism.
It is furthermore aimed at including other tourist offer elements, to establish complex product packages and to present them
intensively and in a target-group oriented fashion, and to make optimal use of the cross-border cooperation possibilities.
Content of the project
The parties involved in the project worked to establish
personal relationships at the opening conference, and to
learn about the services offered by others. The Hungarian
participants got acquainted with the Austrian product
offer at a study tour, and the Austrian partners with the
possibilities in Hungary. The organisers held a destination
management training for the managers, decision makers
of the nature parks, which was attended by 20 people.
In order to have an effective and successful market
appearance, well-formulated and scheduled marketing
activities were pursued through publications, image-type
publications, the Tourist Information Magazine and other
thematic educational material. In order to build personal
relations and for the purpose of persuasion the tenderer
attended tourist fairs and organised exhibitions. The PR
campaign conducted within the project focused on the
travel bureaus as tour operators and liaisons, and on
the media representatives. Study tours were organised
for the travel bureaus and the press, press invitations to
the events were sent out, and newsletters were drafted
in Hungarian and German. The purchase of a touchscreen
information desk, the so called “information tower”
helps to better access the nature park, and the precise
guidance and information services, and which contains
all information on the nature park. Producing a booklet
for collecting tour stamps helped the promotion of the
nature park area. Project results were presented and the
experiences shared at a closing conference.
Results of the project
For the local tourist service providers the marketing activity
increased the knowledge and popularity of the region, the
attention was drawn on the local attractions, which was
aimed at increasing tourism. The publications offered the
possibility to present the settlements and their sights, to
describe proposed tours, tourist programme packages.
The service providers could offer manifold programmes
for their guests, had accurate information, and extended
quality service. The networking and management training
clearly contributed to the development of the trade abilities,
to the improvement of the readiness for cooperation, and
to regional- and tourism development in general.
