in Répce Valley

Aim of the project
To explore Répce Valley as tourist destination, and to develop tourist products and services after the data collection.
The project is furthermore addressed at systematising the tourist products and services in a system based on determined
aspects for the purpose of marketability. To create a strong cohesion and internal loyalty feeling among the peoples, nations
living here so that this region can represent the regional interests stronger toward external markets.
Content of the project
Based on the earlier networking, workshops were held
8 times in Répce Valley. At these events the mapping of
the tourist treasure register has been started. The information
background to the thematic routes was provided by the
work performed in the projects and the questionnaires
sent out and processed. The detailed process of the tours
and essentially the establishment thereof were realized
with the cooperation of the concerned and interested
parties. A 100-page book with 12 colour shots was produced
in 1000 copies based on the tourist treasure register compiled
at the workshops, and a CD in 300 copies containing the
book content completed with description on the tourist
treasures of the settlements in Répce Valley left out from the
book due to size restrictions and with an album consisting of
41 pictures. The dates, venues of the different festivals were
determined. Contacts were established with the unions,
associations and educational establishments uniting the arts
in Hungary. Three cultural festivals were held in Kapuvár,
Csepreg and Répcelak. The structure of the education
promoting the accomplishment of the integrated development
conducted in the project was formulated. The trainings
promoting integrated tourism development were set up
for the 4 target groups at 4 venues, three times as
planned, at which participants received documents as
course auxiliary material in printed and electronic format.
These were materials partly elaborated by the instructors,
partly the SAKK educational materials established by the
National Development Authority. The Répce Conference
undertaken in the project was held on 10 May 2006 at the
Town Centre of Culture. The lecturers detailed the results
achieved so far in the project, the treasures and traditions
of this area, architecture and folk art of Répce Valley in
four blocks. The possible vision for Répce region was
illustrated specially with regard to tourism development, and
the possibilities as to obtaining funding were reported on.
Results of the project
As a result of the integrated communication it was achieved
to build direct connections to the entrepreneurs, intellectual
strata of the regions, to the municipality managers, institutional
and church managements, representatives of the different
scientific fields. The Art Festivals at Répce improved the
loyalty feeling in the region. The cross-border effect of the
project was extremely intensive, which did not limit to the
partner settlements, but got almost all communities in the
Répce Valley of Burgenland concerned active. The project
based on the tourism promotion of the historic Répce area
was able to inspire the result, which will provide opportunities
for further, well-definable, clearly positioned cooperation in
the next development period.
