and surrounding

Aim of the project
Renovation of the spectator stand and the surrounding of the open-air stage in the town of Zalakaros. The development
includes the revitalisation of the open-air stage and its surrounding in addition to rebuilding the facility. The surface of the
promenades in the park will be replaced, made wider, a connection to the pedestrian traffic will be built, and the car park
modernised with new surface covering.
Content of the project
The company refurbishing the open-air stage and its
surrounding was selected in a public procurement
procedure. During the construction work the spectator
stand of the open-air stage was renovated, the old dressing
block was demolished and a new dressing wing was built
as stated in the building plans, public toilets on 10,05
square metres, and the pavement surface on 585 sq.m.
and in 331 m length was replaced and made wider in the
vicinity of the open-air stage, and of the stairs leading to
the park and the car park was rebuilt on 1070 sq.m.
Results of the project
The organisations involved in the project established close
partnerships, learnt about the activities, operation and
applied methods of each other. As participants attach
special role to tourism, cooperation primarily was achieved
in this field. The major part of the tourists arriving in
Zalakaros come from Burgenland and other parts of
Austria. Joint programmes were organised, the Austrian
Partner contributed to the better utilisation of the openair
stage and its surrounding with varied ideas. As a
consequence, local ensembles of Zalakaros performed in
Austria with their cultural programmes, and the Oberwart
cultural unions in Zalakaros.
