Aim of the project<br />

Establishment of a joint tourist supply and marketing, together with the Austrian partner town, Güssing and creation of<br />

the necessary fundamental infrastructure. Further aim is to convert the real estate owned by the applicant into premises,<br />

which will be suitable for tourism and guest accommodation purposes and to publish a bilingual brochure together with<br />

the partner town in order to promote the joint tourism-related supply complementing each other.<br />

Content of the project<br />

During the project activities the shelter-hut was refurbished,<br />

and in order to extend the accommodation opportunities<br />

the loft of the building was converted and the ground floor<br />

and existing kitchen was rebuilt. The community centre<br />

was also refurbished – including the reconstruction of<br />

the roof structure and the replacement of the windows<br />

and doors, re-decorating, floor coverings, parquet floor<br />

refurbishment and removal of obstacles. A bilingual tourist<br />

information brochure was published about the sights and<br />

tourist services of Ivánc and its Austrian partner town,<br />

Güssing, which can also be accessed on the web sites<br />

of both towns.<br />

Results of the project<br />

The refurbished buildings enable a high-level tourist<br />

utilisation, and the availability of adequate number of<br />

accommodation opportunities for visitors and tourists<br />

using the neighbouring waters arriving from the partner<br />

town and its agglomeration. The bilingual information<br />

brochure as a marketing tool provides information for<br />

the potential target group about the target area and the<br />

tourist sights of the partner town. During the development,<br />

partners and the representatives of the applicant<br />

necessarily enhanced their co-operation and besides<br />

the tourism-related developments also such opportunities<br />

were revealed which focus on cultural and sport-related<br />

co-operation.<br />
