II. 2002 – 2008 Arbeitswelt in den USA - Tylle, H. D.

His experience of participation in the 7th International Plein Air Symposium in East Germany in the
summer of 1987 as the only artist from the West – an experience recorded in word and image –
and his limited involvement in the Special Artists’ Guild until 2010 vividly and urgently impressed
upon him the situations in the art scene, divergent and shared, laudable and deplorable. This is the
origin of his commitment as a communicator, as the organizer of the Gallery of Realism in his own
studio building and as a champion of realistic art. His pictures, his manner and his work bring him
the commission in 1999 from the Stiftung Kley in Ludwigshafen for a history painting in commemoration
of the tenth anniversary of the nationally and geopolitically decisive event of November 9,
1989: The day when the Wall across Germany, erected by East Germany in 1961 and under strict
military guard, was brought down by the non-violent protests of East German citizens.
With oil sketches produced on location, Tylle documents retrospectively the effects of this on the
