II. 2002 – 2008 Arbeitswelt in den USA - Tylle, H. D.

With 2,500 of its own employees and thousands of people working for its suppliers, Meyer Werft is
one of the largest employers in the region. As one of the most modern shipyards in the world, the
use of technological innovations is standard and perfected by a highly motivated team of employees.
This is also reflected in the paintings by the artist H.D. Tylle.
H.D. Tylle completed his first paintings of Meyer Werft in 1988. The large-format oil paintings are on
display in the German Maritime Museum, the International Maritime Museum and at Meyer Werft. In
his new artworks for the “Touring Germany” project, he focuses on specific work situations and the
impressive dimensions in which work takes place at the shipyard.
