Purpose-built congress complexes, arenas for megasized
events, a large variety of hotels, and an array
of unique event venues in Düsseldorf leave almost
nothing open to event organizers’ wishes regardless
of the type of event they may have in mind.
With its nine venues capable
of accommodating
more than 125,000 persons,
DüsseldorfCongress
is one of the largest operators
of event-staging facilities
across Europe. And the company
also provides all sorts of
services related to business,
sports, and concerts. Back in
1995, the organization then
named CCD Congress Center
Düsseldorf GmbH and owned
jointly by the city and the
fairgrounds company began
doing business as operator of
the CCD Süd, CCD Ost and
the CCD Stadthalle. With a capacity
of more than 7,500 vis-
itors, these venues together
still are Germany’s third-largest
congress complex and the
largest congress center on
the Rhine river. When the
CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf
GmbH in the year
2000 also took over management
of the PHILIPSHALLE in
addition to these three congress
complexes, the company
was renamed Düsseldorf-
Congress Veranstaltungsgesellschaft
mbH. Just one year
later, the company added the
RheinHalle (today Halle 6),
the Messehallen, and the
Robert-Schumann-Saal at the
museum kunst palast to its

been staging smaller side
events. Since 2005, DüsseldorfCongress
has also been
responsible for managing
Halle 8 on the fairgrounds and
the neighboring ESPRIT arena.
DüsseldorfCongress was

DOME, a new multifunction
arena in Düsseldorf-Rath,
was put into operation in Sep-

has been marketing yet
another special events location
named the Station Airport.
That’s the railroad station
at Düsseldorf’s airport
put into operation in spring
