"Where competitors suffered
major losses because
they do business in only one
market segment, we were
able to emerge stronger
even from periods of economic
crisis", is how Hilmar
Guckert, spokesman of the
DüsseldorfCongress board,
explained the crisis-proof
concept.
In addition to Düsseldorf-
Congress, there are also other
suppliers active in the
Van der Valk Airporthotel Düsseldorf.
MICE business, for example
the local hotel industry and a
large number of unique
event venues.
The revived Breidenbacher
Hof is the undisputed No.1in
Düsseldorf’s hotel industry.
The old building had been
demolished, and after almost
three years of construction
work, the new
Breidenbacher Hof reopened
on that site on May
19, 2008. The luxurious hotel
on the "Kö", as the fashionable
Königsallee boulevard
is known to locals, has 79
guestrooms and 16 suites,
the "1806" restaurant, a bar,
smoker lounge, three event
suites as well as a spa and
health club with swimming
pool. In addition to the 5-star
hotel affiliated to the luxury
hotel collection Capella Hotels
and Resorts, there are
18 private residence units,
office facilities, and fashionable
shops and boutiques on
the building’s nine floors.
The Breidenbacher Hof was
rebuilt by the German hotel
pioneer Horst Schulze in
cooperation with the hotel
owners, the Pearls of Kuwait
real-estate company. "The
name Breidenbacher Hof
was once a synonym
throughout Europe for outstanding
quality and service.
With Capella Hotels and Resorts
as operators of the
new Breidenbacher Hof, we
wanted to revive this tradition
and at the same time set
new quality standards exemplary
throughout the entire
hotel and restaurant industry",
said Schulze. What
makes the Breidenbacher
Hof’s rooms’ interior so
unique is their signature
symbiosis of styles reminis-
architecture and modern
contemporary design.
Room amenities include a
well as LCD-TV, iPod-connection,
passion for detail is reflected
also in the ornate interior
