As of July 1 of this year, Volker Greiner (46) will be Vice<br />
President Commercial Operations North & Central Europe<br />
of Emirates seated in Dubai. He succeeds Henry Hasselbarth,<br />
who will go into retirement at that time. In his<br />
current function as Emirates’ director of sales for Germany,<br />
Greiner has been responsible for sales and marketing<br />
since June 2000. Henry Hasselbarth, who had been responsible<br />
for Northern and Central Europe at Emirates’<br />
directorate in Frankfurt since 1994, will resign from that<br />
position on August 31of this year but will stay active in this<br />
particular industry as free-lance consultant and project<br />
developer. Volker Greiner is a veteran in the international<br />
aviation industry. After serving an apprenticeship as management<br />
assistant in wholesale and foreign trade and<br />
graduating in business management, he joined American<br />
Airlines in Germany where he was assigned to Airport<br />
Operations, Corporate Communications, and Sales. From<br />
1998 to 2000, Volker Greiner held position sales manager<br />
for German and Austrian corporate clients.<br />
The two managing directors of Landesmesse Stuttgart<br />
GmbH (LMS), Ulrich Kromer and Roland Bleinroth, will<br />
both retain their positions in the trade show and expo<br />
company. The federal state of Baden-Württemberg and<br />
the city of Stuttgart each own 50% of the shares in LMS.<br />
PEOPLE<br />
At its most recent session, the LMS supervisory board<br />
unanimously extended the two managing directors’ contracts<br />
by another five years each. Ulrich Kromer (57),<br />
spokeman of the board since 2006, will thus start his third<br />
term in that position in May 2011; the second term for<br />
Roland Bleinroth (47) will commence on January 1, 2011.<br />
Mathias Schiemer (43) joined the Agentur marbet on<br />
April 1 of this year; he will be responsible for New Business<br />
& Sponsoring and in this function will expand sales<br />
activities on the key account level. After five years in<br />
senior promotional position with Pernod Ricard, Schiemer<br />
from 1998 to 2010 collected considerable professional<br />
experience as head of the event and sponsoring department<br />
of the RTL Mediengruppe in Cologne. His new job<br />
will take him back to the Rhine-Neckar region, where the<br />
graduate in business administration will be marbet’s key<br />
account manager in charge of new business & sponsoring.<br />
Schiemer is delighted about this opportunity to return<br />
to his home region and at the same time to take up an<br />
interesting professional challenge. marbet is a subsidiary<br />
of the Würth group in Künzelsau/Germany engaged in<br />
events, incentives, and travel and currently employs approximately<br />
110 persons in Germany, Italy, Spain and<br />
Switzerland
