Welcome to Uppsala and O-Ringen Uppsala 2020
Here you are close to everything. Stroll
along the scenic space by the Fyris river,
relax on any of the the city’s cozy cafes or
let yourself be astonished by the majestic
cathedral, which is only one of many historical
sights in Uppsala. Lively shoppingstreets
blend fashionable malls and shops with
restaurants and bars. Uppsala also plans for
several summer activities and entertainment
during O-Ringen 2020. From major
concerts to smaller exhibitions and shows.
Everyting is nearby! The O-Ringen City as
well as Uppsala’s hotels and hostels, you
will find within a short distance from the
competition arenas, city life and the beach.
The orienteering experience will be in
beatiful and lightly run terrain on detailed
maps in the wilderness close to the city.

Will mountain orienteering in Åre
attract over 25 000 participants?
Getting to know the Åre mountains
is a dream for many orienteers. In
2021 that dream become reality
when O-Ringen will be held in Åre.
The O-Ringen City will be located
in the village of Åre. The village is
situated with the mountain on one
side and Åre lake on the other side.
Åre is know for high mountains (in
Swedish measures) and exciting
adventures. Both the adrenaline
seekers and the ones looking for a
hike in the peaceful mountains will
find plenty to experience here.
Åre is also known for its good
food with over 70 restaurants. One
of them, Fäviken Magasin, has two
stars in the Guide Michelin.
As one of Sweden’s biggest ski
resorts there will be plenty of comfortable
accommodation in hotels,
cottages and apartments.
Traveling to Åre is easy with
Östersunds airport just one hour
away and Trondheim airport in
Norway only a two hours away. It is
also possible to travel by train and
the station is right in the center of
Åre village.
