9th. <strong>The</strong> Illustrious Grand Captain of the Guards.<br />

<strong>The</strong>re shall be appointed a Grand Seneschal who must<br />

be a Deputy Inspector General but not a Constituent<br />

of this Supreme Couneil.<br />

DECORATIONS: “‘—Hangings purple with skeletons,,<br />

death’s heads, cross &nes, etc., painted or embroidered<br />

thereon. In the East a magnificent throne; over it a<br />

purple canopy trimmed with gold. Beneath the canopy<br />

is a transpareney representing a delta, in the centre of<br />

which are seen the ineffable characters, near the centre<br />

of the room is a quadrangular pedestal covered with<br />

scarlet cloth, on which rests a naked sword. On the<br />

north side of the council chamber is a skeleton erect,<br />

holding the white banner of the order, opposite which,<br />

in the South is a flag of the country. Over the interior<br />

portion of the entrance is a blue scarf bearing the<br />

device “Deus Mcumque Jus.” On the East is a candelabra<br />

with five branches, in the West one with three<br />

branches, in the North one with a single branch, and in<br />

the South another with two branches 5+3+1+2 (11)<br />

lights.<br />

<strong>The</strong> sword above mentioned rests on an open Bible<br />

the point of the sword pointing towards the southeast.<br />

<strong>The</strong> members are all ~eated on the south side ~f the<br />

room. <strong>The</strong> Council’Chamber is shaped thus’ .....L..<br />

you satisfied that all within this sacred asylum are<br />

Grand Inspectors General?<br />

Puissant Lieut. Grand Com.—Illustrious Grand Master<br />

General of Ceremonies, satisfy yourself that all present<br />

have been exalted to the last degree of Sublime<br />

<strong>Masonry</strong>. (<strong>The</strong> Grand Master General of Ceremonies<br />

passes around the Council Chamber and being satisfied<br />

that all present are Grand Inspectors General, causes<br />

the Grand Senesehal to secure the door.<br />
