Over the dress he wears a black sash with<br />

silver fringe from which hangs by a red<br />

rosette a dagger; the sash is worn from left<br />

to right. Suspended on his breast is the<br />

Breast Plate.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Wardens have the same dress exoept<br />

the Delta, on the mitre, and the Breast Plate.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Deacons, Captain of the Guards and the<br />

Levites.~wear a white Tunic, cinetured with<br />

a red belt fringed with gold. From this belt,<br />

~ ~ liv a black rosette, is suspended a censer of<br />

High Priest—(Knocks two and says:) Eleazar, mi<br />

son, what is the hour?<br />

L’leazar—My father, it is the hour to replenish the<br />

fire that burns continually upon the altar of burnt offering,<br />

and to prepare for the morning sacrifices.<br />

High Priest—Brother Junior Deacon, what is the<br />

first care of the Chiefs of the Tabernacle when about<br />

to convene?<br />

Junior Deacon—To see that the Tabernacle is duly<br />

guarded, that none may approach thereto, save those to<br />

whom its care and services are entrusted.<br />

Ifigh Priest—Attend to that duty and inform the<br />

Captain of the Guards that we are about to open this<br />

assembly, to carry forth the ashes from the altar, and to<br />

prepare for the morning sacrifice, and instruct him to<br />

see that none approach save those appointed for that<br />

service lest they die. (Junior Deacon attends to order.)<br />

Junior Deacon—Most Excellent High Priest, the Tabernacle<br />

is duly guarded and none can approach but<br />

those who have the proper pass-word.<br />

High Priest—Eleazar, my son, are all present Chiefs<br />

of the Tabernacle?<br />

Eieazar—My father, all present have been initiated<br />

in the first degree, and know the sacred name of the<br />

God of Israel of which the letters only can be pronounced.<br />

High Priest—What is that name?<br />
