Gregory explains two ways <strong>of</strong> approaching space and landscape as `mapping` and `travelling`,<br />

which goes someway to summarising what is presented here. This is also an analogy than can<br />

be applied to time, where `mapping` refers to the measured chronologies and `travelling` is an<br />

attempt to scrutinise and understand a particular point on the way.<br />
