The Fayette County Board of Education met at 701 East Main Street, Lexington, KY at 8:00 am on
the 19 th day of March 2011, with the following members present: (1) John Price; (2) Melissa
Bacon; (3) Amanda Ferguson; (4) Douglas Barnett and (5) Daryl Love

PURPOSE OF MEETING
Pursuant to KRS Chapter 61, notice was given that on March 16, 2011, the Chair of the Fayette
County Board of Education called a special meeting of the Board of Education for Saturday, March
19, 2011 at 8:00 am. 701 E. Main St., in Conference Room A, for the purpose of reviewing
Superintendent Search Firm RFPs received for consideration and a possible vote to select a search
firm.

STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT
The meeting was called to order by John Price, Board Chair, at 8:06 am.
Board members reviewed the RFP submitted by the following firms:
McPherson & Jacobson, LLC
Ray and Associates, Inc.

A motion was made by Doug Barnett and seconded by Amanda Ferguson to retain McPherson
and Jacobson LLC, to conduct the search for a superintendent for Fayette County Public Schools
pending successful negotiation of a contract and utilize the services of the Kentucky School Board
Association on an as needed basis. The motion carried with a vote of 5 to 0.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved by Melissa Bacon and seconded by Daryl Love to adjourn the meeting at 10:16 am.
The motion carried with a vote of 5 to 0.
