TWO RESOLUTIONS ARE OFFERED<br />

"In the interest <strong>of</strong> economy <strong>of</strong> time in the performance <strong>of</strong><br />

our business," said Thomas H. Carter <strong>of</strong> Montana, "I present<br />

the following resolution:<br />

" Resolved, That until a permanent organization is effected this convention be<br />

governed <strong>by</strong> the rules <strong>of</strong> the last national Republican convention."<br />

<strong>The</strong> resolution was unanimously adopted.<br />

Senator McComas <strong>of</strong> Maryland <strong>of</strong>fered the following reso-<br />

lution, which was read <strong>by</strong> the secretary:<br />

Resolved, That the roll <strong>of</strong> States and Territories be now called, and that the<br />

chairman <strong>of</strong> each delegation announce the names <strong>of</strong> the persons selected to serve on<br />

the several committees, as follows; Permanent organization, rules and order <strong>of</strong><br />

business, credentials and resolutions ; and,<br />

further, that the chairman <strong>of</strong> each dele-
