looking over Dr. B<strong>or</strong>lase's vocabulary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
C<strong>or</strong>nish <strong>language</strong>, (which is now nearly extinct,)<br />
I found a w<strong>or</strong>d which exactly answers<br />
to our Ghaw, Giau, Giiick, <strong>or</strong> Giuag, a creek<br />
<strong>or</strong> gullet. There are not less than nine places<br />
in <strong>the</strong> south <strong>of</strong> this Island, <strong>the</strong> names <strong>of</strong> whicli<br />
end in ick, viz.—Fleshiik, Spoldrick, Parwick,<br />
Dressick, Saundrick, Grenick, Soderick, Pollick,<br />
and Gurwick.<br />
Id, s. This, in <strong>the</strong> Maiiks, is only an ending<br />
syllable to adjectives, and makes <strong>the</strong>m substantives<br />
; its meaning is, f<strong>or</strong> <strong>the</strong> most part,<br />
