Describes the macroscopic and microscopic features of Al- nus firmifolia wood from samples of two trees each from Puebla and the Federal District of Mexico. No significant differences in the wood were found. The wood was similar to that of other Alnus species. Some uses of the wood are described. Substitution for Nothofagus and Betula spp. is noted.
