In tables 23 <strong>and</strong> 24 are presented <strong>the</strong> results <strong>of</strong> temperature <strong>and</strong> chemical analyses<br />
made on 15 affluents <strong>of</strong> Karluk Lake during <strong>the</strong> summers <strong>of</strong> 1935 <strong>and</strong> 1936. These<br />
data, with <strong>the</strong> exception <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> silica values, agree with <strong>the</strong> results presented for 1927<br />
by Juday, Rich, Kemmerer, <strong>and</strong> Mann (1932). Variations in temperature, pH,<br />
carbon dioxide, soluble phosphorus, <strong>and</strong> nitrite nitrogen depend, in a large degree,<br />
on <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> day observations are made, <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> fish in <strong>the</strong> streams, <strong>and</strong><br />
depth <strong>of</strong> water in <strong>the</strong> streams.<br />
