Creating IIOP Application Defenses Creating IIOP Application Defenses 6-34 Configuring Application Defenses Select one of the following options: None—Select this option if you do not want to allow any FTP permits. (None of the check boxes will be selected.) All—Select this option if you want to allow all of the FTP permits that are displayed. (All of the check boxes will be selected.) Custom—Select this option if you want to allow only certain FTP permits. To select the FTP permits that will be allowed, click the appropriate check box. A check mark appears in front of commands that are allowed. Note: If you select None or All and then make modifications to the commands, the Custom option will automatically become selected. Configuring the FTP Connection tab The FTP Connection tab allows you to configure timeout and fast path session properties, as well as the type of connection that will be allowed (transparent, non-transparent, or both). Configuring connection properties is common to most Application Defenses. For information on configuring the Connections tab, see “Configuring connection properties” on page 6-48. Note: Click the Save icon to save your changes when you are finished configuring an Application Defense. To configure IIOP Application Defenses, in the Admin Console select Policy Configuration -> Application Defenses -> Defenses -> IIOP. The following window appears. (Figure 6-17 displays only the bottom portion of the windows.)

Application Defenses: IIOP Filter tab Creating IIOP Application Defenses About the IIOP Filter tab The IIOP Filter tab allows you to configure the following options: Allow Bi-directional GIOP—Select this option to enable support for bi-directional 1.2 GIOP (General Inter-ORB Protocol). Validate Content Format—Select this option to filter the message encapsulated in the GIOP PDU, and verify that the header content, message direction, and message length are valid for the GIOP message type identified in the GIOP header. Note: The data in the GIOP header portion of the PDU is always validated. Configuring the IIOP Connection tab The IIOP Connection tab allows you to configure timeout and fast path session properties, as well as the maximum allowed message size. Configuring connection properties is common to most Application Defenses. For information on configuring the Connections tab, see “Configuring connection properties” on page 6-48.
