To change the date and time, follow the steps below.
Important: Applying changes to the date and time will cause the Sidewinder G2 to
automatically reboot. Therefore, you should only modify date and/or time settings during
off-hours. Also note that the reboot will cause you to lose your Admin Console connection.
Important: The Admin Console allows you to set the clock ahead a maximum of 31
days. The Admin Console does NOT allow you to set the system clock back in time. To set
the clock back, reboot to the Administrative kernel and run the config_time utility. See
“Changing the date or time using the config_time utility” on page 3-10 for details.
1. In the Location drop-down list, select the world-wide location of this
Sidewinder G2.
2. In the Time Zone drop-down list, select the time zone in which this
Sidewinder G2 is located.
3. In the Date field, select the current date from the Month, Day, and Year
drop-down lists.
4. In the Time drop-down list, select the current time (hours, minutes,
AM/PM).
5. Click the Save icon to save your changes.
Changing the date or time using the config_time utility
To change the system date or time setting on Sidewinder G2 use the
config_time utility, as follows.
1. Reboot the Sidewinder G2 to the Administrative kernel. For information
on rebooting to the Administrative kernel, see “Powering-up the system
to the Administrative kernel” on page F-2.
