C HAPTER 15 One-To-Many Clusters About this chapter This chapter describes the Sidewinder G2 clustering features that allow you to manage multiple Sidewinder G2 Security Appliances. This chapter covers the following topics: “Overview” on page 15-1 “Example scenario using a One-To-Many cluster” on page 15-4 “Configuring One-To-Many” on page 15-5 “Understanding the One-To-Many tree structure” on page 15-13 Overview If your organization uses two or more Sidewinder G2s, the One-To- Many feature allows you to easily manage your Sidewinder G2s at one time. Changes you make in the Admin Console to your primary Sidewinder G2 are automatically replicated to each secondary Sidewinder G2. The changes are made to each secondary Sidewinder G2 immediately, in real time. You are most likely to use One-To-Many if you are managing several Sidewinder G2s that are located in the same network, which is the case if you are using load balancing hardware. This scenario is depicted in Figure 15-1. Note: When implementing One-To-Many, the preferred setup is to configure each Sidewinder G2 with a dedicated cluster burb, allowing all communication between cluster Sidewinder G2s to be contained within its own burb. 15 One-To-Many Clusters 15-1
