7-4 Creating Rules and Groups
In the Duplicate Rule Name window, do the following:
1. In the Name field, type a unique name for the duplicate rule or group.
Valid values include alphanumeric characters, periods (.), dashes(-), and
underscores (_), and spaces ( ). However, the first and last character of
the name must be alphanumeric. The name cannot exceed 100
characters.
2. [Conditional] If you are creating a duplicate IP Filter rule of type Other,
select a protocol for the new rule from the Protocol drop-down list. (The
protocol does not need to be the same protocol used by the original
rule.)
3. Click Add.
This section provides information on creating proxy rules.
Note: For an overview of proxy rules, see Chapter 4.
To create a proxy rule, using the Admin Console select
Policy Configuration -> Rules. Then click New -> Proxy Rule. The Proxy
Rule window appears. (To modify a proxy rule, highlight the rule you
want to modify and click Modify.)
Important: Proxy rules that you create will not be part of the active policy unless you
place them in a rule group that is part of the active policy. For information on adding a
proxy to a rule group and ensuring that it is included in the active policy, see “Creating and
managing rule groups” on page 7-19 and “Selecting your active policy rules” on page 7-22.
