Configuring authentication services 9-16 Setting Up Authentication Warder—This column displays the type of authentication utilized by a user. IP Address—This column displays the source IP Address from which the authentication request originated. Time of User Entering Cache—This column displays the time at which a user was initially authenticated and added to the cache. Time Cached Data Last Accessed—This column displays the time at which a user last accessed service that required authentication. To expire the SSO authentication cache for all users listed in the table, click Expire All Entries. To expire the SSO authentication cache for a single user or group of users, select the users you want to expire by clicking on the appropriate table row(s). To select multiple users, press and hold the Ctrl key as you select users. Then click Expire Entry(s) to expire the selected users from the authentication cache. When you expire the authentication cache for a user(s), those users will be required to re-authenticate before they can again access any authenticated services. Note: Subsequent authentication requests by an expired user will be cached when they re-authenticate, allowing them to again utilize SSO authentication. Setting up LDAP authentication To configure LDAP authentication on the Sidewinder G2, in the Admin Console select Services Configuration -> Authentication, and click Configure LDAP. The following window appears.

LDAP configuration window Entering information on the LDAP Configuration window Configuring authentication services This window is used to configure your Sidewinder G2 to work with an LDAP server. The top portion of the window displays a list of any current LDAP servers you have defined. To add a new server, click New. To modify an existing server, highlight the server and click Modify. See “About the LDAP Configuration: Domain Controller Configuration window” on page 9-18 for instructions on adding or modifying an LDAP server entry. To configure the general LDAP properties for all of the defined LDAP servers, follow the steps below. 1. In the Maximum Retries field, specify the number of authentication attempts that will be made before a failure is issued. The default is 3. 2. In the Timeout field, specify the number of seconds to wait for the server to respond. The default is 60 seconds. 3. In the Login Prompt field, specify the prompt that you want to appear for the user name portion of the login process. The default is Username. 4. In the Password Prompt field, specify the prompt that you want to appear for the password portion of the login process. The default is Password. 5. In the User Attribute field, specify the attribute that will be used to define usernames in the LDAP server. The default is uid (used by i-Planet). Setting Up Authentication 9-17
