Aligning graphic objects To change the default settings for text: 1 Click on the background of the Employee Hiring System window to ensure that nothing is selected. 2 On the Format menu, select Text. 3 In the Font dialog box, make the changes you want. Then press the OK button. Lesson 4: Improving the Appearance of Your Diagrams 64 FrameWork changes the default settings. The new settings will remain in effect until you change them again. Aligning graphic objects Ways to align objects Your diagrams will be easier to read and understand if the graphic objects in them are aligned with each other. You can align objects by positioning them either with respect to each other or with respect to a grid. You’ll practice both ways, but first you’ll learn how to select multiple objects. Selecting multiple objects To select multiple objects: 1 In the common toolbar, select the Select tool if it’s not selected already.
Aligning objects with respect to each other 2 Do either of the following: Aligning graphic objects ● Click and hold on the window background near one of the objects you want to select. Then drag a bounding box around all the objects you want and release the mouse button. Note Depending on your operating environment, you may not see the bounding box while you’re dragging. FrameWork highlights the objects within the boundaries of the box, however, so you’ll be able to tell which objects you’re selecting. ● Select one of the objects you want. Then hold down the Shift key and select each of the other objects. In the Employee Hiring System diagram, you’ll align the HR Representative actor with the Department Head actor. To do this: 1 In the Employee Hiring System diagram, select the HR Representative actor and the Department Head actor. 2 On the Format menu, select Icon Alignment and then Center.
