NEW GREEN TECHNOLOGY VENTURES<br />

Among <strong>the</strong> new venture fi elds for <strong>the</strong> Division under Semasa<br />

Services Sdn Bhd, a company under <strong>the</strong> BSD, is Green Building<br />

Management. It focuses on increasing <strong>the</strong> effi ciency of<br />

resource use in energy, water <strong>and</strong> materials – while reducing<br />

building impact on human health <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> environment during<br />

<strong>the</strong> building’s lifecycle, through better design, construction,<br />

operation, maintenance <strong>and</strong> removal. Semasa Services facilitate<br />

<strong>the</strong> assessment process for buildings in order to identify <strong>the</strong><br />

building classifi cation.<br />

Clients st<strong>and</strong> to benefi t from <strong>the</strong> premium rental rate of <strong>the</strong><br />

building <strong>and</strong> attract reputable tenants, improving long-term<br />

economic performance <strong>and</strong> indoor quality. O<strong>the</strong>r than that, it<br />

also helps to incorporate energy <strong>and</strong> water effi cient technologies.<br />

Best of all, it reduces building management costs <strong>and</strong> create<br />

value-added services.<br />

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION<br />

The Division’s operation is carried out via adhering to well-<br />

established st<strong>and</strong>ard procedures aimed at delivering excellence.<br />

The Division commits to its ISO certifi cation year by year; this<br />

includes companies under <strong>the</strong> Division’s umbrella, notably,<br />

Semasa Sentral Sdn Bhd, Semasa Services Sdn Bhd, Semasa<br />

Parking Sdn Bhd <strong>and</strong> MRCB Technologies Sdn Bhd. For year<br />

2011, Semasa Parking <strong>and</strong> MRCB Technologies, have both<br />

passed <strong>the</strong> recertifi cation audit conducted by SIRIM Berhad <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> surveillance audit by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping (M) Bhd.<br />

High-Rise Building Maintenance<br />

Stesen Sentral Kuala Lumpur which is managed by Semasa<br />

Sentral Sdn Bhd also won fi rst place in <strong>the</strong> private sector<br />

buildings category for Jalur Gemilang Decoration Competition,<br />

organised by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) in 2011. The win<br />

refl ected <strong>the</strong> Division’s high spirit of patriotism in celebrating <strong>the</strong><br />

54th Independence Day.<br />

PROJECTS<br />

Facilities Management Services<br />

The Division has been in this fi eld for six years <strong>and</strong> is growing<br />

<strong>the</strong> services steadily. Some current Facilities Management (FM)<br />

projects by Semasa Services Sdn Bhd include services for Plaza<br />

Sentral Joint Management Body, Quill Realty Berhad, YTR Harta<br />

Sdn Bhd <strong>and</strong> Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Companies<br />

Commission of Malaysia (CCM) <strong>and</strong> Malaysian Industrial<br />

Development Authority (MIDA) for <strong>the</strong>ir buildings in Kuala<br />

Lumpur Sentral.<br />

Carpark Operations And Management<br />

As for carpark services, Semasa Parking Sdn Bhd is managing<br />

<strong>the</strong> Group’s <strong>and</strong> external clients’ car park operations <strong>and</strong><br />

management at Menara Bumiputra Commerce building, 1<br />

Sentral building, Quill 7, 26 Boulevard ICON <strong>and</strong> SSM <strong>and</strong><br />

MIDA building.<br />

ICT Technologies<br />

Spearheading new technologies <strong>and</strong> ICT Integration under<br />

MRCB Technologies Sdn Bhd, <strong>the</strong> Division supports SME Corp,<br />

<strong>the</strong> new tenant in KL Sentral Park by supplying data centre<br />

services, installing audio-visual systems <strong>and</strong> Wi-Fi services. One<br />

of <strong>the</strong> prominent projects awarded in 2011 is to supply, deliver<br />

<strong>and</strong> install <strong>the</strong> Integrated Building Management System (IBMS),<br />

Telephone Structured Cabling, Extra Low Voltage <strong>and</strong> Integrated<br />

Security Management System (ISMS) for <strong>the</strong> Lot 348 Project in<br />

Kuala Lumpur Sentral.
