There was a difference in participation rate according to the group. Group 6 was the highest of posting group with 68<br />

postings. Group 1 was the lowest posting groups with 32 postings. The number of participants among groups was<br />

different according to each individual situation. There were 528 messages regarding interaction which covered<br />

98.5% of the total messages. 441 messages (83.5%) were related to response and it looked like response-centered<br />

communication. However, most students responded to the peer’s first initiation within a topic and there was little<br />

turn-taking based on the message flow diagram. The diagram of message flow in most groups showed a similar<br />

pattern as in Figure 2. Each number meant group and individual participant.<br />
