<strong>Faculty</strong> Grievance Committee. The <strong>Faculty</strong> Grievance Committee will be advisory to the<br />
Provost and, at the request of the grievant or the Provost, will make an inquiry into an unresolved<br />
grievance and provide a written recommendation to the Provost concerning its resolution.<br />
Advisory Committee. This is a standing committee of five members appointed by the President<br />
of the <strong>University</strong> from a panel of ten to fifteen names of tenured faculty members elected by the<br />
<strong>Faculty</strong> Assembly.<br />
9.2 <strong>University</strong> Administrative Committees<br />
All standing committees of the <strong>University</strong> are appointed and approved by the President of the<br />
<strong>University</strong>, and the President as deemed may make additions to the membership appropriate.<br />
Deans’ Council. The Deans’ Council, chaired by the Provost, serves as the chief advisory and<br />
consultative body to the Provost. The faculty representatives to this Committee are the <strong>Faculty</strong><br />
Chairperson and the <strong>Faculty</strong> Vice-Chairperson.<br />
Advisory Committee on Admissions, Registration and Financial Aid. The Committee reviews<br />
and makes recommendations regarding policies involving: (1) the qualifications of applicants for<br />
admission, (2) registration planning and implementation, and (3) student financial aid. The<br />
chairperson of the <strong>Faculty</strong> Senate/Assembly shall appoint two faculty members to this<br />
committee.<br />
Applicants that clearly satisfying admission requirements are admitted without referral to this<br />
Committee.<br />
Budget Committee. The <strong>University</strong> Budget Committee, chaired by the President, meets to<br />
review budgets submitted by the Deans and Heads of individual departments and participates in<br />
hearings of various budgets. The chairperson of the <strong>Faculty</strong> Senate/Assembly shall appoint two<br />
faculty members to this committee. One such person can be the Chairperson.<br />
<strong>University</strong> Committee on Employee Relations. (Employee Relations, Policy Committee). The<br />
<strong>University</strong> Committee on Employee Relations reviews and monitors the working conditions and<br />
employment relations of <strong>University</strong> employees. It also develops and recommends programs of<br />
employee benefits. The Committee reports to the President. The chairperson of the <strong>Faculty</strong><br />
Senate/Assembly shall appoint two faculty members to this committee.<br />
The President’s Executive Council. The President’s Executive Council serves as the chief<br />
advisory and consultative body to the President of the <strong>University</strong>. It is a deliberative body for<br />
policy formulation related to major administration and executive decisions. The presiding<br />
officer of the Council is the President of the <strong>University</strong>. The President’s Council meets weekly<br />
or at the call of the President. The <strong>Faculty</strong> Chairperson shall represent the faculty represent the<br />
faculty on the President’s Executive Council.<br />
The Council is composed of the President, Provost, Vice President for Fiscal Affairs, Vice<br />
President for Facilities and Planning, Associate Provost for Student Services, Executive<br />
Assistant to the President, General Counsel, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, and<br />
