predictions made using literature values resulted shorter by about 0.75%; experimental results gave<br />

slightly higher cupping than actually resulted.<br />

In general, results seemed promising although the computer procedure should be tested on more wood<br />

species. Samples containing preparation and paint layers should also be tested to simulate more<br />

closely the situation in panel paintings.<br />
