Pursuant to section 18b 3 2 of the Shipping Act <strong>19</strong>16 as amended by<br />

P L 90298 and section 502 92 of the <strong>Commission</strong> s Rules of Practice<br />

and Procedure 46 CFR 502 92 Sea Land Service Inc Sea Land or<br />

Applicant has applied for permission to waive collection of a portion of<br />

the freight charges on a shipment of roof ventilators which moved from<br />

EIizabeth New Jersey to Riyadh Saudi Arabia under a Sea Land bill of<br />

lading dated August 28 <strong>19</strong>76 The application was fIled October 20 <strong>19</strong>76<br />

The subject shipment moved under Sea Land Service Inc Tariff256<br />

A FMC I36 4th revised page 81 item 755 effective August 31 <strong>19</strong>76<br />

The shipment measured 790 cubic feet <strong>19</strong> 75 measurement tons of 40<br />

cubic feet The rate applicable at time of shipment was 210 WfM with<br />

aminimum of 25 measurement tons per container The rate sought to be<br />

applied is 210 W M with a minimum of22 5 measurement tons per<br />

container Same tariff as cited above except that the latter rate was<br />

published on 5th revised page 81 item 755 effective September 18 <strong>19</strong>76<br />

Aggregate freight charges payable pursuant to the rate applicable at<br />

time of shipment amounted to 5 250 Aggregate freight charges at the<br />

rate sought to be applied amount to 4 725 The difference sought to be<br />

waived is 525 The Applicant is not aware of any other shipment of the<br />

same commodity which moved via Sea Land during the same time period<br />

at the rates involved in this shipment<br />
