Here we can trace a connexion between the Kingdom
of the Isles and that of Dublin, but we can find
no trace of Godred Crovan's conquest of the city, on
the contrary, there is much to justify an opinion
that the Godred, or Godfrey, whom Lanfranc styled

(while at the
same time he styled Turlogh O'Brian " the mighty
King of Ireland"), was that Godfrey, the son of

between the Kings of Dublin and Man which O'Brian to send
induced the Manx nobles in A.D. 1089 to request A
Murchard O'Brian to send one of his lineage to reign
