Prologo, though in Italian only as it was never translated by the Abbé. The preface,<br />
in French, is signed J. G. Schumann, the „Gio. G. S.‟ <strong>of</strong> the titlepage, and is dated 1<br />
May 1734. The title-page is in red and black and the engraved frontispiece (reading<br />
Le berger fidele) and 5 plates are by Böcklin, based on those <strong>of</strong> Blooteling (see, for<br />
example, 1702/2 and 3).<br />
