revival in the following October and November (see 1789/2) occupies pp. (1505)-<br />
1556 <strong>of</strong> volume 2. The editor‟s „Notizie storiche‟ on Il pastor fido occupy pp. (1738)-<br />
1749. Along the way he manages to introduce one <strong>of</strong> those red herrings which turn<br />
up from time to time, saying that the play was translated into French by one<br />
