Pastor fido is dated to the period 1602-1605 by the editor, who deems it „an actable<br />
drama resembling a Roman comedy more than Guarini‟s original but retaining the<br />
essential outlines <strong>of</strong> character and theme‟ (p. 3). The play also survives in a<br />
manuscript in Trinity College Cambridge (MS.R.3.37).<br />
