amena letteratura che si trovano vendibili da Niccolò Conti in Lungarno al n. 1187‟,<br />
where the Pastor fido and other works are described as „Edizioni ornate di nuovi<br />
rami‟, can be found, for example, in Conti‟s 1819 edition <strong>of</strong> Ongaro‟s L‟Alceo<br />
(Taylorian: Vet.Ital.IV.B.819).<br />

The half-title (recorded in NUC) is Biblioteca portatile di classici italiani. Omitting<br />
the Argomento and the Prologo but with an 8-page essay on Guarini. According to a<br />
note at the end <strong>of</strong> the Schumanns‟ edition <strong>of</strong> Müller‟s German translation (see<br />
1822/4), this edition <strong>of</strong> the Italian text came with two plates („mit 2 Kupfern. 1819.<br />
Preis 18 gr. zu haben‟). They are not present in the Taylorian‟s copy.<br />
