PROJECT WORK TIME:<br />

Procedures<br />

1. Brainstorm with the class on the different kinds <strong>of</strong> visual<br />

products that could be produced about their <strong>Virginia</strong> animals<br />

(e.g., poster, diorama, play written and produced by the team,<br />

PowerPoint presentation).<br />

2. Have students work with their project teams.<br />

3. Have the student teams look again at their design briefs.<br />

4. Have the teams review all the components <strong>of</strong> their written<br />

reports and verify the progress on their written reports.<br />

5. Introduce the Visual Product Rubric (pg. 102 or pg. 241).<br />

Review with the students concrete examples <strong>of</strong> different kinds <strong>of</strong><br />

products (e.g., poster, diorama, dramatic representation,<br />

PowerPoint).<br />

6. Give the teams time to discuss and decide what they want to do<br />

for their visual product. Have the teams record their plans in<br />

their team notebooks.<br />
