5. Complete the second half <strong>of</strong> <strong>What</strong> Do We Know about<br />

Habitats?(pg. 67) (This was begun during Topic 3, Session 3.1)<br />

6. Compare answers from the first date to those given on the second<br />

date. Discuss with the students why answers may have changed.<br />

PROJECT WORK TIME:<br />

7. At this point, students should have a strong understanding <strong>of</strong><br />

habitats. The student teams have also now chosen their animals<br />

for their project. Provide the students with the <strong>Virginia</strong> Animals<br />

and their Habitats Project Design Brief (pg. 77-78 or pg. 235-<br />

236) for the project. Review the Design Brief with the students<br />

and make sure that they understand the project they will<br />

complete. The <strong>Virginia</strong> Animals and their Habitats Project<br />

Design Brief should be kept in their team project notebook so<br />

they can refer back to it when needed.<br />

8. Once the student teams understand the full project, explain that<br />

they will begin research on their animal‟s habitat using the<br />

Habitat Research Planning sheet (pg. 79 or pg. 238).<br />

9. Remind the student teams that all research gathered should be<br />

put in their team project notebook.<br />
