Fata Hunter’s proprietary hSystem
automation system to Baotou Alcha Aluminium
Technology Co. Ltd in China. The first
of the two systems is being installed on a
roughing cold rolling mill and the second one
on a finishing cold rolling mill also complemented
by Automatic Gauge Control (AGC),
Automatic Flatness Control (AFC), Roll Eccentricity
Compensation (REC), massflow
and feedforward control, flatness measurement
systems and coolant spray bars.
Both mills will feature an integrated Level
2 control system which handles automatic
pass schedule calculation, primary mill data
management and process data acquisition and
recording.
Also in September, Fata Hunter gained
another contract in China to supply four new
hSystem automation packages to Deli Group
Co., Ltd, Zouping. This contract follows the
successful installation of the first three systems
on cold mills and this latest equipment
will be installed at Deli on one roughing
foil mill, one intermediate foil mill and two
foil finishing rolling mills. The systems will
be complemented by AGC, AFC, a flatness
measurement system and coolant spray bars.
Trade cooperation agreements
Once again, all
the mills will feature
an integrated
Level 2 control
system for automatic
pass schedule
calculation,
primary mill data
management and
recording system.
A common process
data acquisition
system is also
planned for installation.
In December, Fata’s further business potential
in China was given a real boost by a cooperation
agreement forged between the Italian
Government and the Chinese Ministry
of Commerce when a top-level trade delegation
visited Rome. A range of trade cooperation
agreements were ratified, including a
long term strategic agreement between Fata
and Genertec – China General Technology
(Group) Holding Co., Ltd.
Genertec and Fata have been successfully
cooperating in China for many years and
have built up a good working relationship.
Both companies say that they plan to identify
further business synergies in order to boost
collaboration in China and in other specified
markets with the benefit of their joint technology
capabilities and financing.
The two companies will also market and
promote their respective products and competences
with potential clients in emerging
markets.
In late November last year, the final acceptance
certificate for a 4-high non-revers-
ible aluminium cold rolling mill was signed by
Fata and Aluminium Chue Chin Hua Co. Ltd
in Thailand. The rolling facility was initially
installed in early 2012 with final commissioning
successfully completed in September. Key
to the project elaboration Fata reports that
it enjoyed a good working relationship with
ACCH, and excellent project support was
provided by the customer’s management and
technical teams.
As a result of this cooperation, the new
aluminium cold rolling mill is now operating
to the customer’s process requirements and
specifications, providing high quality output.
In this respect, the mill is also equipped with
the Fata hsystem for process control to ensure
a high level of consistent quality production.
New office in Abu Dhabi
The contracts in China, Thailand and Poland,
coupled with the news of further business
consolidation were complemented by Fata’s
announcement of a new facility in the Gulf
region. In October, the company reported it
was establishing a Fata SpA branch office in
Abu Dhabi, UAE, further strengthening its
presence in the region, supporting existing
facilities in Oman and Qatar.
This is reinforced with an agreement with
Multi World General Trading LLC, a 100%
locally owned company serving a range of
business sectors of the UAE economy and also
representing foreign companies.
Through its contracting arm Fata EPC, the
company is planning to pursue various opportunities
via undertaking EPC projects, in
addition to the aluminium sector and other
industries, notably relating to oil and gas in
the UAE and other GCC countries.

for Shandong Nanshan Aluminium
In China, Shandong Nanshan Aluminium
Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of the Nanshan
Group, is among the leading manufacturers
of aluminium products. In November
2012 the company contracted SMS Siemag
for the delivery of a 1+5 hot rolling
mill for aluminium and aluminium alloys.
Shortly afterwards, an order was placed
