Laboratory Development
i) Soil Science Laboratory was non-existent when I joined Research Station, CSKHPKV,
Akrot (Una) in May, 1986. I was the Laboratory In-Charge and under the initiatives
taken by me, equipment worth about 1.5 lacs or so were purchased. This rendered
the laboratory functional for teaching (if any), research and soil testing for farmers.
The major equipment got purchased were:
1. Spectrophotometer 2. Flame Photometer
3. Water Still 4. Auger, Grinder
5. Root Samplers 6. Bulk density cores
7. Glassware 8. Chemicals, etc.
ii) As the P.I. of a NATP (CGP) project, I have helped procures the following equipment:
1. Computer with all accessories i.e. computer furniture, printers (Laser & inkjet),
photocopier & scanner.
2. Trinacular Research Microscope with photomicrography equipment.
3. Microbial Biomass Assembly with all essential items.
4. Additional Root Core Samplers
5. Maize Sheller
6. SLR Camera
7. Plot Thresher
8. Kjeldahl Distillation Unit
iii) As P.I. of Water Management Project (ICAR), I have procured following equipment:
1. Computer alongwith Printer and Scanner
2. Mini Tractor/Power Tiller with trailer
3. Micro-irrigation Equipment i.e. drip and sprinkler for fertigation
iv) Bought equipment worth crores of rupees as the VC, CSAUAT, Kanpur.
