34. In order to regularly update the competence and skills of all categories of<br />
employees, Human Resource Development Centre would be strengthened<br />
in a big way and trainings would be conducted round the year.<br />
35. I would accord my specific attention to the so called less productive<br />
scientists, going critically into their specific problems and helping them<br />
with innovative solutions.<br />
36. I would ensure submission of 2 research projects by a scientist at a given<br />
point of time. This practice would be made compulsory. Appreciation<br />
letters/certificates will be issued to all such scientists.<br />
37. I would ensure an annual review of thrust areas of research in all fields<br />
using documents such as D.A.P., Survey Reports, etc.<br />
38. <strong>University</strong> research policy would be updated / reviewed. While applied<br />
research would be encouraged, one of the objectives in every research<br />
proposal should pertain fundamental studies. There would be an absolute<br />
stress on development of very simple, convenient and cost-effective<br />
technologies for small/marginal and rainfed farmers.<br />
39. A two-day file disposal system would be introduced and strictly enforced.<br />
40. Scientists would be encouraged to attend conferences/trainings in India /<br />
abroad, encouraged to write books, prepare manuals, etc.<br />
41. Top priority will be given to the generation of internal resources thereby<br />
enhancing university’s income.<br />
42. Transparency in university administration would be made a firm policy of<br />
the university and the same would be meticulously implemented.<br />
43. Staffing pattern would be revamped and need-based redeployment will be<br />
carried out.<br />

related to agriculture and allied enterprises would be set up for the benefit<br />

45. For the growth of each discipline, faculty seminars would be made<br />

46. A fortnightly progress monitoring system of all departments / units shall be<br />
launched. All HOD’s (including non-academic departments) / Statutory<br />
Officers would be required to submit reports to my designated<br />
followed by actual presentation(s) in the VC’s committee room.<br />

47. Efforts would be made to convince the ICAR, etc. to set up advanced<br />
centres of study in the university.
