FUTURE PROJECTIONS/VISION AS A VICE-CHANCELLOR/HOLDING

1. At the outset, I would like to submit that provided a suitable position /
assignment, I would have an open mind on the subject and as such, would
do everything possible to bring the concerned institution to the top
position locally, nationally and at international levels. My urgent action
would be to call for ‘SWOT’ analysis reports from all departments/units.
These reports will enlighten me about the prevalent pressing problems at
once. Accordingly, I can rightaway start grappling with them successfully
and efficiently.
2. “MY MOTO WOULD BE EXCELLENCE” IN BOTH MY WORK AS WELL AS
CONDUCT. I shall function with the outlook that leadership is not position,
it is action and that like magnetism/gravity, it works round the clock or 24
hours. The attitude of all statutory officers/heads of departments will be
oriented accordingly.
3. In most institutions, there is a dire need to attend to many small things.
(In life, “Small things are the big things”). Once that is done, big results
will automatically happen.
4. In order to monitor the quality of U.G. and P.G. instruction by teachers, and
that of seminars by the students, I would go around the various colleges in
a random manner at least once in a week for the above purpose.
5. There may be a dire need to beautify the surroundings of the various
colleges. After all, there is always a scope for improvement. As such, I will
initiate all relevant measures to create a congenial atmosphere for work
and relaxation.
6. Various laboratories of all the colleges will be renovated and provided with
modern equipment. Glass Houses and Polyhouses will be established at
different Krishi Vigyan Kendras/research centres to undertake precision
farming research.
7. College canteens will be upgraded as Multi Purpose Students’ Centres to cater to the
academic as well as co-curricular needs of both hostelers and day scholars.
8. In order that irrigation is not a constraint for P.G. research, the academic
departments would be asked to dig out water harvesting ponds and recycle rain
harvested water for research work, possibly through gravity.
