9. Eminent persons preferably from outside the state will be invited to
conduct thesis evaluation, hold thesis viva voce and oral comprehensive
exam., etc.
10. In case, there is a scarcity of lecture theatres in departments for P.G.
classes, as is the case in many SAUs’, necessary infrastructure would be got
developed soonest.
11. College clubs/ semi-professional bodies need to be activated in such a way
that they make their presence felt in the area by way of public service.
Some debates, quizzes and sports competitions would be encouraged
under their banner. Such activities on a regular basis would create a lively
atmosphere in the institution and would also keep it in limelight.
12. By resorting to strong and innovative steps, the university will be turned
into a ragging free campus. Necessary counseling will be taken up in a big
way.
13. I would be addressing the faculty, students and the employees now and
then, acquaint them with the university’s achievements, employees welfare
agenda being executed, limitations, if any, and expectations from them visà-vis
improving the university.
14. A suggestion box will be got installed outside my chamber as well as in
case of all heads of departments (academic and non-academic both).
Suggestions from one and all to improve the affairs will be most welcome.
These will be especially taken up in the Management Committee meetings
followed by suitable decisions.
15. The students have to be provided a free hand for handling equipment in
the practicals so that they acquire necessary confidence and skills thereby
enhancing their value as future scientists/teachers. Necessary monitoring
will be done frequently.
16. Efforts would be made to have a good computer centre with complete
range of facilities in each college. It will open early and remain open till
late evening.
17. Online library system would be strengthened so that the teachers /
scientists can scan latest literature from their rooms, itself, apart from
doing so through internet.
18. A Central Instruments Services Section will be set up.
19. Central Instruments Laboratory of each college will be located in separate
buildings.
