38. A number of initiatives were taken to enhance income such as
intercropping in orchard, sale of flowers/flower bouquets, sale of
fruits/vegetables/flowers/forestry/medicinal and aromatic
plants/saplings, saaale of dairy and poultry products, organic produce,
vermicomposting, vermiculture charging for various kinds of testing (soil,
water, manures, fertilizers, products) services especially in Central
Instruments Lab. by various clients.
39. Fourth Deans’ Committee recommendations vis-à-vis new course curricula
and exam reforms were executed successfully from 2007-08 academic
session onward.
40. Got civil works, sanctioned by the ICAR started at all Krishi Vigyan
Kendras, many of which are nearing completion. Floated tenders for
several crores of rupees and placed orders. Work quality was meticulously
monitored all through and ensured.
41. Since, employees’ welfare was the major agenda of my administration,
there were hardly any fresh court cases during my stay at the CSAUAT,
Kanpur.
42. During 2006-07 to 2007-08, 152 scientists were given opportunity to
participate in national (44 cases), international (35 cases) conferences and
summer/winter courses (73 no.). A special summer course was organized
at the university for scientists who could not avail an opportunity
elsewhere due to age bar.
43. Tried to enrich every faculty member with computer, internet and intercom
facilities. About 70% faculty was equipped with above facilities till the end
of my tenure.
44. Presentation of the synopsis by a PG/Ph.D. student before a committee
consisting of 1 external expert was made compulsory.
45. During the span of 2 years, 15 extra-mural lectures by eminent scientists
were arranged for the benefit of faculty members and students for the first
time ever in the university.
46. For the growth of each discipline, faculty seminars were made compulsory
in each university department.
47. A fortnightly progress monitoring system of all departments/units was
launched. All HODs/Statutory Officers were required to submit reports and
present the same in my committee room.
