Lucknow and international institutions like FAO, CIMMYT, etc. for the first
time. Also good progress was made towards collaboration with private
companies like Jain Irrigation systems, Ltd. Jalgaon; Dhanuka Ltd., etc.
14. The beautification of the campus was accomplished on priority basis. The
campus now looks very impressive with its well-tended fields, streetlights,
efficient water supply system, gardens planted with various annuals
imparting thereby a charming view to the campus.
15. The university's security system was tightened. A sense of responsibility
was generated amongst the inmates.
16. The civic amenities for students and other residents of the campus were
adequately strengthened.
17. The transparency in the university administration has remarkably
improved due to its execution as a policy.
18. Long-time vacant positions of Krishi Vigyan Kendras and teaching, research
and extension positions of different colleges were filled with specialized
and talented faculty.
19. Very long awaited faculty assessment and promotion of the faculty
members from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and Associate
Professor to Professor was done. Besides, promotions to non-teaching staff
were completed on priority basis.
20. A record number of competitive projects were prepared in the first 2 years
of my appointment and submitted to various funding agencies. Of this,
about 20 major research projects were sanctioned by different funding
agencies till my stay at the CSAUAT, Kanpur.
21. For ensuring speedy results in teaching, research, extension and
administration, many new Sections/Cells/Directorates like Administrative
Cell, Establishment Cell, Estate Cell, Legal Cell and Directorate of
Placement were strengthened.
22. Action Plans for all Research and Seed multiplication farms were carefully
designed and actions initiated accordingly.
23. In view of the excellent work done by various Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the
university, 2 more Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Hathras and Banda) were
sanctioned by the ICAR in favour of the university, in 2007.
24. The university farms were brought to profit status for the first time after a
