26. In order to streamline submission/processing of projects under major<br />
programmes, appointed separate Nodal Offices/Scientist In-Charges for<br />
Food Security Mission, Horticulture Mission, Rajeev Gandhi Vikas Yojna<br />
(RKVY), etc.<br />
27. Signed mutually beneficial MOUs’ with prestigious institutions such as<br />
IIPR, Kanpur, CIMAP, Lucknow, Jain Irrigation, Jalgaon, U.P. Remote<br />
Sensing Centre, Lucknow, etc.<br />
28. Got a record number of competitive research projects submitted by the<br />
scientists to different agencies. During 2007-08 and 2008-09, about 11 and<br />
23 new Adhoc research projects were sanctioned/financed respectively by<br />
various agencies. Under National Horticulture Mission, projects worth 2<br />
crore rupees were got sanctioned.<br />
29. New sale points were opened for supply of quality materials viz. flowers,<br />
flower bouquets, seeds, seedlings, cuttings, buds, saplings, horticultural<br />
plants and regenerated material, etc.<br />
30. In order to upgrade competence and skills of employees, a Human<br />
Resource Development Centre was set up. It made a start by organizing<br />
21-day training for those teachers who had crossed age bar.<br />
31. A Technology Park with a vision to demonstrate the best basket of<br />
technologies related to agriculture and allied enterprises was set up. The<br />
CSAUAT is the pioneer in above area.<br />
32. Annual assessment system covering all categories of employees was totally<br />
overhauled (developed new comprehensive proformae) and reviewed.<br />
Updated system was also enforced.<br />
33. Students’ Instructional Farm Buildings were renovated, some buildings<br />
were also added. Its income was also enhanced substantially through<br />
various measures.<br />
34. A number of initiatives were taken to enhance university income such as<br />
intercropping in orchards, sale of flowers/flower bouquets/fruits/<br />
vegetables / flower/ forestry / medicinal and aromatic plants/saplings,<br />
dairy and dairy products, organic produce, vermicomposting, charging for<br />
various kinds of testing (soil, water, manures, fertilizers, products)<br />
especially in Central Instruments Laboratory by various clients. The
