Pla<strong>in</strong> Mill<strong>in</strong>g<br />
On completion <strong>of</strong> the module, students should be able to <strong>in</strong>terpret<br />
technical draw<strong>in</strong>gs, mill pla<strong>in</strong> components safely, us<strong>in</strong>g a vertical<br />
mill<strong>in</strong>g mach<strong>in</strong>e and support<strong>in</strong>g tools, to achieve a l<strong>in</strong>ear dimensional<br />
accuracy <strong>of</strong> IT10, an angular dimensional accuracy <strong>of</strong> ±30’ and a<br />
surface roughness between 1.6 to 3.2 microns.<br />
Bear<strong>in</strong>g Ma<strong>in</strong>tenance Technology<br />
On completion <strong>of</strong> the module, students should be able to apply the<br />
skills and knowledge to select, replace and diagnose anti-friction<br />
bear<strong>in</strong>g faults.<br />
Electives (Inter-discipl<strong>in</strong>ary)<br />
Advanced PLC Applications<br />
On completion <strong>of</strong> the module, students should be able to apply<br />
PLC <strong>in</strong>structions <strong>in</strong> the design <strong>of</strong> an <strong>in</strong>dustrial automation project<br />
and analogue-to-digital process<strong>in</strong>g us<strong>in</strong>g w<strong>in</strong>dows-based PLC<br />
programm<strong>in</strong>g s<strong>of</strong>tware.<br />
Workplace First Aid and CPR<br />
On completion <strong>of</strong> the module, students should be able to apply<br />
basic concepts and pr<strong>in</strong>ciples <strong>of</strong> first aid to render first aid treatment<br />
at the workplace and perform CPR dur<strong>in</strong>g an emergency.<br />
Electives (Cross-level)<br />
Visual Basic Programm<strong>in</strong>g<br />
On completion <strong>of</strong> the module, students should be able to apply the<br />
concepts <strong>of</strong> computer programm<strong>in</strong>g and write simple programs us<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Visual Basic programm<strong>in</strong>g language <strong>in</strong> w<strong>in</strong>dows environment.<br />
Product Prototyp<strong>in</strong>g<br />
On completion <strong>of</strong> the module, students should be able to create<br />
simple design <strong>of</strong> a product us<strong>in</strong>g 3D CAD s<strong>of</strong>tware and produce a<br />
3D model <strong>of</strong> it us<strong>in</strong>g basic prototyp<strong>in</strong>g devices.<br />

Microcontroller Applications<br />
On completion <strong>of</strong> the module, students should be able to design<br />
and write programs for simple microcontroller projects.<br />
Small Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Management<br />
On completion <strong>of</strong> the module, students should be able to identify a<br />
significant bus<strong>in</strong>ess opportunity, prepare a promotional package and<br />
conduct a sales event for a small bus<strong>in</strong>ess.<br />
