<strong>Implementation</strong> <strong>Plan</strong> for the Global Observing System for Climate in Support of the UNFCCC<br />
(2010 Update)<br />
• The report of the October 2007 Sydney Workshop on Future Climate Change Research and<br />
Observations (<strong>GCOS</strong>-117);<br />
• National reports 110 on progress against the 2007 Reporting Guidelines provided to the UNFCCC<br />
Secretariat up to March 2009;<br />
• Reports from a number of <strong>GCOS</strong> National Coordinators and Focal Points and other IP-04 Agents<br />
for <strong>Implementation</strong>;<br />
• The December 2008 CEOS Report to SBSTA 111 on progress with implementation of the spacebased<br />
components of IP-04.<br />
The outcome of SBSTA 30 consideration of the 2004-2008 Progress Report included an invitation to<br />
the <strong>GCOS</strong> Steering Committee and Secretariat to produce an update of 2004 <strong>Plan</strong> which would<br />
reflect both the progress since 2004 and the new developments, requirements and perspectives that<br />
emerged during the preparation of the Progress Report.<br />
