significant for our 4.885 J.lm sample below a fundamental wavelength <strong>of</strong> 750 nm.<br />

Figs. 6.6 <strong>and</strong> 6.7 display our s-in/p-out raw data from our undoped 1.020 J.lm <strong>and</strong> our<br />

n-type 4.885 J.lm GaN samples. The data are referenced to the measured SHG from<br />

quartz in the same polarization configuration. The discrepancy between the spectra<br />

is due entirely to nonlinear interference effects, <strong>and</strong> is not due to differences in the<br />

nonlinear susceptibility.<br />
