Program Notes:<br />
1. The program requirements are determined by the date a student officially<br />
becomes an IS major.<br />
2. A grade of a “C”or better is required in each CIS major course. CIS courses in<br />
which lower grades have been received must be retaken before progressing to<br />
the next course in the sequence. An incomplete is not considered a passing grade.<br />
3. Only two CIS courses may be repeated because of an unsatisfactory (D or F)<br />
grade. These courses may be repeated one time.<br />
4. No student shall choose the pass/not pass option for a CIS course. Advisor<br />
agreement is required for any other course.<br />
5. Students may test out of upto two CIS courses and must receive credit from<br />
6 courses in list of IS courses.<br />
6. Students not prepared to take MA 21400 will be required to take a necessary<br />
prerequisite math class.<br />
7. Communications or English Elective is defined as an elective from the<br />
Department of English and Philosophy or the Department of Communications<br />
and Creative Arts as approved by the department head.<br />
8. Social Science Elective is defined as one of the following: Anthropology,<br />
Communications, Economics, Political Science, Psychology or Sociology.<br />
9. General Education Elective Is defined as one of the following: English, Math,<br />
Communications, Humanities or Social Science.<br />
10. Lab Science Elective is defined as one of the following: Science 11200,<br />
Astronomy, Geology, Biology, Physics or Chemistry.<br />
11. CIS/MIS Elective is defined as an elective from the CIS or MIS course offerings<br />
as approved by the department head.<br />
