Note – You do not need ALOM system controller user permissions to use this<br />

command.<br />

The showenvironment command has one option: -v. If you use this option, ALOM<br />

returns more detailed information about the host server’s status, including warning<br />

and shutdown thresholds.<br />

Controlling the Locator Indicator<br />

The Locator indicator locates the server in a data center or lab. When the Locator<br />

indicator is enabled, the white Locator indicator flashes.You can control the Locator<br />

indicator either from the Solaris command prompt or from the sc> prompt. You can<br />

also reset the Locator indicator with the Locator indicator button.<br />

To Control the Locator Indicator<br />

To turn on the Locator indicator, do one of the following:<br />

1. In the Solaris OS, log in as superuser and type the following command:<br />

# /usr/sbin/locator -n<br />

Locator LED is on.<br />

2. From the ALOM system controller command prompt, type:<br />

sc> locator on<br />

Locator LED is on.<br />

3. To turn off the Locator indicator, do one of the following:<br />

● In Solaris, log in as root and type the following command:<br />

# /usr/sbin/locator -f<br />

Locator LED is off.<br />
