Configuring Hardware<br />

This chapter provides hardware configuration information for the <strong>Sun</strong> <strong>Fire</strong> <strong>V445</strong><br />

server.<br />

Note – This chapter does not provide instructions for installing or removing<br />

hardware components. For instructions on preparing the system for servicing and<br />

procedures to install and remove the server components described in this chapter,<br />

About the CPU/Memory Modules<br />

The system motherboard provides slots for up to four CPU/memory modules. Each<br />

CPU/memory module incorporates one UltraSPARC IIIi processor, and slots for up<br />

to four dual inline memory modules (DIMMs). The CPUs in the system are<br />

numbered from 0 to 3, depending on the slot where each CPU resides.<br />
